Admission Procedure
Admission Rules:
Admission to B. Ed Course is centralized at state level and based on the result of Joint B. Ed Entrance Test conducted by any one of the three universities of the state. The admission to B.Ed is based on subject combinations to be chosen as below:
  1. Admission to the B.Ed. course is subject based .At the time of admission each candidate shall opt for two teaching subjects. A candidate can opt for only those teaching subject, which he/she has studied at graduation/postgraduation level.
  2. B.Sc.(Home Science ) Graduates may opt two Teaching Subjects. One is teaching of home science and other shall be out of the subjects studied by the candidates at the B.Sc level.
  3. B.Sc.(Hons. School)/ B.Sc.(Medical) Graduates shall opt for two teaching subjects out of the following :
    1. Teaching of Life Science.
    2. Teaching of Science/Teaching of Physical Science.
    3. Teaching of any of the languages i.e. English,Hindi,Punjabi and Sanskrit.
  4. B.Sc. (Hons. School)/B.Sc.(Non-Medical) Graduates shall opt for two teaching subjects out of the following :
    1. Teaching of Science/Physical Science/Computer Science.
    2. Teaching of Mathematics.
    3. Teaching of any of the languages i.e. English,Hindi,Punjabi and Sanskrit.
  5. Arts Graduates may opt for any two teaching subjects keeping one each of the following:
    1. Teaching of Social Studies / Fine Arts/Music/Physical Education /Home Science /Economics.
    2. Teaching of any of the languages i.e. English,Hindi,Punjabi and Sanskrit.
  6. Teaching of Mathmatics with teaching of economics or English,Hindi,Punjabi and Sanskrit.
Note:Both Subjects selected shall be the same as offered at graduate level/postgraduate level.
In the above said subject combination atleast one subject should be major which the candidate has studied for 3 years at graduate level/at Master level for two years, other subject may minor which the candidate has studied for atleast one year at graduate level.
There are a total of 280 seats for B .Ed Course of Panjab University in this college(One Seat reserved for Kashmiri Displaced Migrants ) Reservation of seats to various categories is provided as by Punjab Government rules.
Management Quota:
Out of the total 36 seats are filled under Management Quota as per the Punjab Govt./ Panjab University norms. The Management Quota Seats are filled as per the norms of Pb. Govt. Students willing to get admission to Management Quota seats will have to apply to the college directly.
Eligibility of Admission to M.Ed. Course:
The admission to the course, session 2008-2009 shall be open to a person who possesses following qualifications:
  1. A Degree in Art, Science And Commerce from recognised university or a postgraduate degree in Art, Science or Commerce from recognised university.
  2. B.T. or B.Ed., any other degree equivalent to B.T. or B.Ed. degree of the Panjab University.
Admission Procedure for M.Ed.
Admission to the M.Ed. course (25 seats) session 2008-2009 shall be made according to the guidelines framed by the panjab University, Chandigarh based on marks obtained in M.Ed. Entrance Test conducted by P.U., Chd. and percentage of marks obtained in B.Ed. course.
Fee Structure:
The Fee for B.Ed. and M.Ed. Course will be as fixed by Punjab Govt./Panjab University. It may be changed without notice under the instructions fron Panjab University/Punjan Govt.
